Now don't be jealous, my new house was decorated by a real interior designer that use to live in it, so it is definitely move in ready!!!! Ok well I guess it just isn't my taste but I am sure that when she did this in the 70's many ooohhhhhs and aaaahhhhhs were said now there a lot of eeeeeeees and ohhhh what was she thinking but enjoy because as soon as I get my hands on this place the ooooohhhhhs and aaaaahhhhhhs will return. Here is the short tour....
The front living room with the awesome arches that are wallpapered on every possible surface. and notice the ceiling in the hall has some wall paper too! That whole wall isn't just a wall there are actually 2 LARGE windows just covered in curtains with the EXACT same design as the wall paper. Besides her love of wall paper she also love mirrors so there are mirrors there too.
My lovely kitchen and notice there is wallpaper under the wallpaper.
This my friends is where you will pee if you come by and visit and have the need!!!! It is a BEAUTY!!!!! notice once again the ceiling is wallpapered and there is an added bonus because the vanity is also full of wallpaper.
The hall going toward some of the bedrooms.
This here is Tyler's room.
The master bath. She spared no expenses with the AWESOME curtains and the wallpapered vanity! Also we made a bit of money there are a bunch of coins in the sink.

WOW! I can't wait to see it after you redo it.
Wow! You weren't kidding! Time for a wallpaper removing party!
I'm in. I'll help you with the removal!
Ugh, I can't believe all the patterns. I now dub your house "The Vomit Wallpapered Home". I like Tyler's pretty valance. It's really beautiful.
Wood paneling is not that bad, just paint it some light color and rip down at least one wall of it. Voila, not to shabby!
Seriously, it's time to call in all the friend's on this one.
Wow...I guess that's already been said twice. She definitely loved wallpaper and frilly curtains!
You should make your kids some clothes out of all that curtain fabric like on The Sound of Music. There's enough material there that you wouldn't have to buy clothes for years!
I will not help you take down the wallpaper cause I am still broken hearted that you're moving! But I will accept that skirt made out of your curtains that you offered to make me. That would be very vintage! (Okay, I suppose I will help with the wallpaper.)
Holy Cow!! Glad you could look past all that wallpaper to see the potential in your new home :) Can't wait to see the AFTER pictures, have fun with all that stuff on your walls!!
Oh dear. I am pretty sure that is the definition of "fixer upper" at least your kids will have fun ripping it down. And when the new home teachers come over wanting to know if there is anything they can do to help you, you can hand them a scrapper and water bottle!
Congrats on the new house. It does look big and I am sure you are happy to have more space!
Unbelievable - I can't wait to show Mike this post! Let us know if you want help taking down all that wallpaper!
I hate to say this, but it reminds me of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. You should document the clean up and send it to Oprah, you'd probably win a medal!
I still cannot get over this house! I want to add you to our blog list but I don't have your email address. Please send it to me.

Wow! I thought the wallpaper that the "previous grandma" chose was crazy in my house!! I think it's hilarious and i look forward to seeing you guys update! It's both fun and exhausting.
Lynnae, that is CRAZY that you guys knew Kathryn & Shawn Smith! You're right, they are just the best people around. It's no surprise that he is Bishop of our ward now.
Where in Arizona do you guys live? Do you live in Mesa or Phoenix? I have a BUNCH of family in Mesa and I'm wondering if you know any of them...hmm??
Oh. My. Gosh.
That is UNBELIEVABLE! What the devil was that woman thinking?! Honestly, as if the wallpaper itself wasn't enough ... the curtains made me laugh out loud. (Who puts up curtains like that? WHO?!)
Amazing. Simply amazing.
Let me know if you need help with the tear-down. I'm more than happy to come over on a Tues or Wed and help you out.
PiCK ME! I live right around the corner and would LOVE to come help you tear down wall paper! I'm free any day! Miss your cute family!
I'm speechless. Also, a little dizzy. Maybe a little claustrophobic. Frightened of being swallowed alive in those curtains. Terrified of not being able to find the door in some of those rooms. And I think I'd get stage fright in that bathroom. I'd like to help, but I might need to see a therapist first. Ohh, I just got the chills.
Now that is what i call taste! Any chance you got the name of the previous owner's decorator. If so, I would love a referral.
Seriously though, someone actually chose to put that stuff on the walls. Wow!
WOW. Reminder to to check interior decorators references! LOL That room where she did the doors is unreal! You need to have a party about once a month where we all come and help remove the wallpaper!
