Fire Fire

On Saturday night, the 5th of June, we had just put a movie on and ready for a relaxing evening when we heard a VERY loud bang on our front door. I opened the door to find my neighbor asking frantically if our house was on fire. I ran to the backyard and this is what I could see. We have a lot of dry brush in our backyard so we were really nervous about it spreading to our yard. Lucky for us it burnt our neighbors tree and the alley but only a little bit of our tree.

After they got the fire out they came back and told us they were turning our power off so SRP could put in a new electrical pole! So we went to Emily's and crashed there.

What is left of the shed
The tree next door I thought the rafters looked really neat.

Day 5: Last walk on the beach

On Friday we packed up in the morning and then we took one last walk on the beach before heading back to the HEAT!

Day 4: More beach time!

When Dara woke up her ear was so swollen we decided we better pop her blisters.

Then we headed down to the beach. my camera was dead so I stole a few pictures from Whitney.
This is the set up we had on the beach.

The kids had so much fun digging.
And so did Reagan and Dara.

Day 3: San Diego

Wednesday morning we all took a shower and put on some nicer clothes and headed to San Diego for some sight seeing and lunch. My camera battery died so I didn't get any pictures of our delicious lunch at Blue Water Cafe. We went there last year and had to go again they have AWESOME fish!
Our fist stop was the temple. As we got closer we noticed it was in rafters because they were doing maitinance on it. But we still walked around and enjoyed the peaceful spirit around the temple.

It was built the same year Dara was born.

Tyler found a snail and carried it around with him until he set it down and then accidently stepped on it.
We enjoyed the hill with the beautiful grass.

I thought it was funny how Reagan was posing in this picture.
Here is Emma in one of her new poses.
Then we headed to lunch and then over to the Cabrillo monument and park and looked around.

We rented some binoculours because it was right by the navy base and so they had signs that told all the names of the ships, airplanes and helicopters that would be going by so they had fun trying to identify them all.
I love light houses and was so excited there were 2 to see. This one is no longer working but we were able to take a tour of the bulding.

Looking down the stairs in the light house.

Looking up
This is the active light house.

The kids found a lizard.
Then we went to the tide pool. The tides were way to high to see any creatures so the kids were a bit sad.

.JPG" /> Dara woke up that morning and said her ear felt funny and the she must have slept on it funny. But by the end of the day it was obvious she had burnt here ear laying out on the beach the day before. The blister got HUGE!!
